Mountaineer staff writer, Rebecca Dishong, is used to spotlighting others as she writes feature stories and senior spotlights for the school newspaper. This time, she has earned her own spotlight.

Dishong, a member of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), recently won Dress to Impress and was awarded $300 as a result. This competition was nationwide and FBLA provided the money for the clothes. Dishong was chosen as the winner out of 100 of her peers.

Mainly Chemistry but i have one Biology Remediation class.

I teach 10th 11th and 12th.

How long have you been teaching at SASD?
This is my fourth year at Stroudsburg, second full year teaching Chemistry.

What is your favorite part about teaching?
Watching students finally understand a concept they initially struggle with.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) was created in the 1950s and its popularity has been increasing since. In the last decade arguments have been made that artificial intelligence is developing too quickly.

The arts and education departments have taken the biggest hit from this AI idolization.

BRODHEADSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A federal investigation is underway into political flyers dumped into the trash in Monroe County.

"It was surprising because..one, she shouldn't be dumping here, and two, she had a postal uniform on and postal hat," said Blue Line Security Guard Mike.

Mike is a security guard at the Shop Rite Plaza in Brodheadsville, Monroe County.

He says the mail was dumped last week into this trash can at the end of the parking lot.

CHESTNUTHILL TWP. MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A bicyclist is seriously injured after colliding with a car on Route 209, police stated.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on October 22 around 5:00 p.m., troopers were called to Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township for a crash involving a bike and an SUV.

The Mountaineer Newspaper is hosting a Pumpkin Palooza Decorating contest for the SHS faculty and the voting is completely in the students’ control.
