STROUD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A new law to go into effect this year in the Keystone State is aimed at helping first responders diagnosed with post-traumatic stress injury.

Grabbing gear and heading toward a building engulfed in flames or helping a person involved in a car crash in the dead of winter.

It’s a response that emergency crews don’t think twice about doing or the mental impact it will have on them afterward.

Monroe County is starting work on a Price Township bridge, as well as two in Polk Township. The bridge is over the Brodhead Creek on Clark Road (Township Road 533) near the intersection with Route 447. 

Robert Gress, chief clerk for the county, said the bridge was built in 1956 and needs a steel I-beam replaced, wing wall work off the shoulder, and other structural repairs.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TAKE NOTICE that the Stroud Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, beginning at 6:30 P.M., at the Stroud Township Municipal Center, 1211 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania 18360. The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division Detective Kim Lippincott has arrested and charged Jessica Walters, 35 and Robert Nochella, 35, both of Stroud Township.

Detectives were requested to respond with a supervisor at Monroe County Children and Youth to the residence located in Stroud Township which is occupied by Walters, Nochella, and their two minor children. The supervisor had concerns that Jessica Walters was using fentanyl in the home around the children.

Police arrested Jessica Walters and Robert Nochella, both 35 and of Stroud Township, on various drug and child endangerment charges.
