LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The 20th Annual Pocono Raceway Blood Drive is underway! The Ride for the Red Event at the Tricky Triangle is one of the largest in the Poconos.
Officials say it's a key reminder for those to donate because the summer season brings a drop in blood donations.
They also note one in seven people who go to the hospital end up needing blood.

"Just savin lives you know, you just start doing good in the world, people need blood people need that extra hand, may not ever meet them but at the end of the day your just trying to good for other people and do good in the world because we need it," Rob Eorio from Mount Arlington, New Jersey said.
The event runs until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. All donors will be entered into a drawing for a chance at one of three prizes, courtesy of Pocono Raceway.
