ATV crash leads police to finding two stolen ATVs

TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)โ€” A Monroe County man is facing charges after allegedly crashing an ATV leading police to discover multiple stolen ATVs at his residence, according to Pocono Mountain Regional Police.

David Frantz Jr. of Tunkhannock Twp., PA is facing two felony charges of Receiving Stolen Property.

According to the criminal complaint, Pocono Mountain Police Department responded to the 200 block of Blossom Lane for a report of ATV crash, but the driver left the area on a dark colored ATV.

The witness stated he did not know the driver's name, but knew he resided at 194 Candle Drive.

It is there where police say they found Frantz with bleeding from his face, and during questioning, he attempted to throw away a bag of Methamphetamine.

Frantz was then arrested and taken into the hospital, according to the complaint.

Police say a woman who also lived on the property stated that she believed Frantz had stolen the ATVs and stored them on the property.

Police searched the property and found a 2001 Yamaha Kodiak and a 2005 Honda Rincon, both not registered to Frantz.

The two vehicles were worth an estimated value of just over $13,000.

Frantz stated in an interview on June 23 that he bought the the Kodiak for $300 at a local gas station, according to police.

Frantz is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges and is under active probation until 2027.
