COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) released details on an incident that shut down a portion of Interstate 380 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday at about 11:30 a.m., troopers were called to Interstate 380 Northbound near mile marker eight after a reported shooting during a road rage incident.
State police explained that the suspect, later identified as a 38-year-old woman, left the scene, and troopers were unable to find her during their initial response.
Through multiple investigative methods, the suspect was found and taken into custody without incident, according to PSP.
Device found near courthouse deemed not a threatOfficials say the Monroe County District Attorney's Office was contacted, and the woman is facing multiple charges for the incident, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and other related charges.
The suspect was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility and will be arraigned Wednesday morning, according to state police.
Authorities say the incident is currently being investigated by the Troop N, Major Case Team alongside the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.
