TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man is behind bars after allegedly striking a 60-year-old woman with a car in Monroe County.
The Pocono Township Police Department say on Friday, May 16, at about 4:50 p.m., they were called for a reported hit and run at the Tannersville Plaza behind the Lehigh Valley Health Occupational Medicine building.
Authorities report that a 60-year-old woman was intentionally struck by a black 2012 Ford Fusion while walking through the parking lot.
Brooklyn man dead after Carbon County crashPolice explained that the car, operated by the victim's ex-boyfriend, later identified by police as 59-year-old Eugene Fellows, fled the scene.
Fellows was later found at a home outside of Pocono Township by the Pennsylvania State Police, according to officials.
Pocono Township Police say Fellows was apprehended and placed in the Monroe County Correctional Facility and is facing felony aggravated assault and other related charges.
Authorities clarified that all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
