LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two local veterans are getting a fresh start this weekend at Pocono Raceway thanks to a national program that puts them behind the wheel of something life-changing.
The two vets were gifted completely refurbished cars through the NABC Recycled Rides program.
Each car costs about $30,000 and was donated by Geico Insurance.
Faulkner Collision Center in Lancaster donated the labor to fix and fully restore the cars.

"Really, a life-changing event when they receive a vehicle and they're eternally grateful and we're just happy that we can give them a hand," Program Manager Dale Ross told 28/22 News.
"It really took me by shock, and it's still not completely set in yet. I'm still shocked," Recipient from Wilkes-Barre, Dylan Clark, said.
The car giveaway took place this afternoon in Veterans Village, just before the race began.
Organizers say they plan to return again next year.
