Public Notice Pursuant to the “Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act” and the “Clean Streams Law” notice is hereby given that Eureka Stone Quarry, Inc., 851 County Line Road, Huntington Valley, PA 19006, has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for an Individual National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit, number PA0119229, in association with the Saylorsburg Quarry, Surface Mine Permit Numbers 6576SM1 and 45970301. The Saylorsburg Quarry is located on Keiser Road, in the southeast quadrant of the intersection of Keiser Road and Haney Road. This application replaces the site’s former NPDES permit, which expired on December 6, 2024. No changes are proposed to the previous NPDES permit. The receiving stream of the NPDES discharge point is an unnamed tributary to McMichael Creek, which is classified as High Quality – Cold Water Fishes (HQ-CWF) and Migratory Fishes (MF) in 25 Pa Code Chapter 93. The permit area is 226.7 acres and is situated along Keiser Road in Hamilton Township. The site is located on the Saylorburg, PA US Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map, approximately 13.9 inches north and 7.2 inches west of the lower right-hand corner of the map. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Hamilton Township Municipal Building, 229 Fenner Avenue, Sciota PA. Written comment, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the DEP, Pottsville District Mining Office, 5 West Laurel Boulevard, Pottsville, PA 17901 by July 28th, 2025 and must include the person’s name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
