Public Notice - NPDES Renewal Pursuant to the Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act and the Clean Streams Law, notice is hereby given that Heidelberg Materials Northeast LLC, 7535 Windsor Drive, Suite 300, Allentown, PA 18106, has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for renewal of its existing National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit No. PA0594415. The receiving streams are unnamed tributaries to Lake Creek and Cherry Creek, which are both designated as a High Quality-Cold Water Fishes, Migratory Fishes (HQ-CWF, MF) under Title 25, Chapter 93.9c. The mine site is located in Hamilton Township, Monroe County and is known as the Stroudsburg Quarry (SMP No. 6575SM1). The affected area consists of 180.0 acres situated south of Cherry Valley Road between Country Heritage Drive and Fetherman Road. The site is located on the Saylorsburg, PA U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map, approximately 9.0 inches north and 2.6 inches west from the bottom right-hand corner of the map. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Monroe County Conservation District, 8050 Running Valley Rd, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 and the Pottsville District Mining Office, 5 West Laurel Boulevard, Pottsville, PA 17901. Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be directed to District Mining Manager, 5 West Laurel Boulevard, Pottsville, PA 17901, up to and including 30 days after the fourth publication of this notice, or no later than August 20, 2025.
