STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A visual testament of faith in Monroe County.
The faithful from several churches are "Walking For Christ" in observance of Good Friday.
The walk began at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stroudsburg.
Participants in period dress recreate Stations of the CrossIt's based on the last steps in the life of Jesus and takes the group to six area churches.
This year a new cross leads the faithful throughout the borough.
The walk brings together people of different faiths.
"Whether you have been in church for the last 60 years or you don't know anything about church at all, this is an opportunity for you to walk, literally, with some of your neighbors and explore what faith might be," expressed Rev. Monica Guepet, lead pastor, Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
"I think it truly means reminding ourselves what community is supposed to look like," added Pastor Elizabeth Koerner, St. John's Lutheran Church.
The cross walk in the Poconos took about an hour to complete.
