
Pennsylvania State Police are accusing a woman of shooting a man in the face during a road rage incident on I-380 in Monroe County Tuesday morning.
The woman, 38, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, terrorist threats, propel missile into occupied dwelling, recklessly endangering another person, and reckless driving, according to a news release from state police.
Troopers were sent to Interstate 380 North in Coolbaugh Township shortly before 11:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a male who said he was shot in the face during a road rage incident, state police said.
The woman fled the scene but was taken into custody without incident, according to state police.
Authorities took the woman to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, where she will be arraigned Wednesday morning. Police say they will release more information after the arraignment.
Part of I-380 North in Coolbaugh Township near Tobyhanna was shut down for about two hours on Tuesday.
When Newswatch 16 arrived shortly after noon, several state police vehicles could be seen on the highway from the closed on ramp at Route 611.
At one point, a helicopter flew overhead, searching the area along with troopers walking around the scene.
There is no word yet on what led to the road rage incident.
Interstate 380 reopened to drivers shortly before 2:30 p.m.
