MONROE – Sen. Rosemary M. Brown (R-40) today offered insights into the ongoing discussions regarding the prolonged closure of Route 611 in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which has been closed since Dec. 6, 2022, causing significant disruption to residents, businesses and commuters. National Park areas with bodies of water allow people to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and that’s what the Delaware Water Gap aims to achieve for it's visitors.
But last week, they received a report of an oil sheen on Hidden Lake near the park headquarters. Now, they're reminding people the park is not an area to change their oil.

Nearly 19 months after a rock slide closed Route 611 in Delaware Water Gap and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area — and nine months after the initial estimated date to reopen it — the road remains closed. And that likely won’t change this year, or possibly anytime soon.

28/22 NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Multiple projects throughout Monroe and Pike Counties will now begin thanks to a $2,000,000 state grant.
State Representative Tarah Probst helped get the funding for those counties.
The money is coming from local share accounts.
The Monroe County Industrial Development Authority was awarded $1,210,000 for many projects, including renovations for the Monroe County Historical Association.
