Short Term Rental Information
The Borough of East Stroudsburg enacted a short term rental ordinance in 2021. The ordinance requires licensing and a list of requirements including the use of a private trash hauler. Zoning regulations limit the licenses to Commercial and Industrial areas, properties in residential areas will need a variance. Details can be found in the East Stroudsburg STR Ordinance. On January fourteenth, 2025, the Stroudsburg Chess Team defeated East Stroudsburg North by a score of 6-1.This was a win that Stroudsburg desperately needed to keep its playoff hopes alive.
Stroudsburg’s top performers were Duncan Ruschman, ’26, Matthew Sanchez, ’25, Maosn Ulmer, ’27, Jacob Pachter, ’27, Megan Lisnik, ’26, and Duncan Casebolt, ’27. A special congratulation goes to Duncan Casebolt, as this was his first, of hopefully many, varsity wins in his career.

A total of 1,771 students have been named to the Dean’s List at East Stroudsburg University for the Fall 2024 semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, as announced by Margaret Ball D.M.A., the university’s provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Students eligible for the Dean’s List must have achieved a 3.50 grade point average (GPA) or higher and be enrolled full-time. For reference, the grade “B” equates to 3 quality points per credit, while an “A” earns 4 quality points per credit.

After losing back-to-back games to Pocono Mountain West and East, Stroudsburg squared off for the win against Pleasant Valley and tied with a team that was 0-3. The win against Pleasant Valley kept hopes alive with only five games left in the season.
Then, the SHS Chess team tied with Lehighton on Thursday 01/09/25 with a score of 3.5 to 3.5.
Duncan Ruschman, ’26, Jacob Pachter, ’27, and Mason Ulmer, ’27, checkmated for wins while Jacob Bajek, ’25, tied.
The team now stands at 4-3-1 as they look ahead to district standings.
