BURN BAN IN EFFECT.  

Stroud Township has issued a burn ban effective immediately.  This includes campfires and wood fires for outdoor food preparation. Manufactured gas grills can be used for outdoor food preparation.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when navigating the intersection of E. Broad St and Lackawanna Ave in East Stroudsburg Boro, as a new stop sign has been recently installed.

Saturday, April 26, East Stroudsburg South held an Invitational meet with nine schools. The SHS girls took first place, while the SHS boys took second at this meet. After dropping a nail-bitingly close match to South earlier in the week, Stroudsburg took a trip over the bridge one last time with revenge in mind.

East Stroudsburg South seniors spent Thursday planting donated trees on campus for Arbor Day. (opens in new window/tab)

East Stroudsburg University’s College of Education and the Council for Exceptional Children hosted a community painting day. Children of all ages came to ESU’s campus on Saturday, April 26 to create a work of art to share with their class or teacher.

Yesterday, Stroudsburg softball fell to Pocono Mountain East (PME), 6-5, on the final play of the game.

The Mounties got on the board in the top of the first inning after Elena Trotter,’25, doubled, and Pocono Mountain East committed an error, each scoring one run.

A single by Trotter extended the Mounties’ lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning. Trotter, along with her two hits in the first two innings, hit singles in both the seventh and ninth innings. She collected four hits in five at-bats.
