The Borough of East Stroudsburg enacted a short term rental ordinance in 2021. The ordinance requires licensing and a list of requirements including the use of a private trash hauler. Backed by a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for success, East Stroudsburg University’s latest cohort of nursing program graduates achieved a remarkable 100% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN), exceeding state and national averages.
The group of 29 graduates became eligible to take the NCLEX-RN, a requirement to practice as a registered nurse, after completing the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in May.
East Stroudsburg University student Ana Laska presented her research, “Chernobyl Disaster and the Importance of Historical Narratives,” at the 84th Convention of the Pennsylvania Communication Association. The convention took place September 27-28 at Penn State Schuylkill.
On Tuesday, Stroudsburg Boys and Girls Cross Country ran against Pocono Mountain East, Pocono Mountain West, Pleasant Valley, East Stroudsburg North, and East Stroudsburg South.
After a long 5k (3.1 miles) in 60-degree weather, Aiden Nieman, ’25, finished first for the boys, with Kaiden Hein, ’25, shortly behind him in sixth.
For the girls, Julia Grant, ’26, led the team finishing in second overall, closely followed by Carolyn Roberti, ’25, in third.
Nieman had a successful season, finishing it off with a time of 16.54 seconds.
