TAKE NOTICE that the BOROUGH OF DELAWARE WATER GAP has scheduled the flushing out of the water hydrants during the week of June 2, 2025. You may experience dirty or cloudy water between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Should this occur after that time, remove the aerator from the faucet and keep the water running to flush the sediment out of the line.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is on the run and a woman is facing several charges after police say they found children in a car with pot after a chase in Monroe County Sunday.

According to court documents, on Sunday at about 11:10 p.m., a state trooper was driving east on State Route 611 in Stroudsburg when they saw a silver Mercedes traveling in front of them.

State police say the car was seen swerving on the road and driving above the posted speed limit.

Monroe County Conservation District June 2025 Board Meeting Date The June 2025 Monroe County Conservation District Board of Directors meeting has been rescheduled to June 12, 2025. The meeting will be held at the MCCD/Education Center, 8050 Running ValleyRoad, in Bartonsville beginning at 10 AM. The Work Session will be held prior to the Board Meeting at 9AM.

On May 6, 2025, several Stroudsburg High School students were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2024-2025 school year at the Forty-Fourth Annual Academic Awards Ceremony. 

Maureen Verwey is retiring after 35 years at Stroudsburg. She has been the advisor of the National Honor Society for many years. Current club officers include:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BOROUGH OF STROUDSBURG Notice is hereby given that the Stroudsburg Borough Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers of the Stroudsburg Borough Municipal Building, 700 Sarah Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360, for the consideration of the fol-lowing Ordinance. From April 6 to 9, Stroudsburg Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Hersey, Pennsylvania. This year, Stroudsburg brought 70 students to compete at the state level, with the hopes of advancing to Nationals. 

The Spanish Four and Five classes at Stroudsburg High School have a fun teamworking project at the end of the year, where students come together in groups to plan and bring a skit based on a fairy tale to life.

“Cuentos de hadas,” Spanish for “fairy tales,” usually contain a structure of animals attacking, a happy ending, and characters who are fantastical in some way (witches, talking animals, etc).

After students wrote a storyline, they had to design props, create sound effects, find music, and make a background for the Promethean board while they presented.

Art is more than just a canvas and paint. It encompasses many careers and human activities such as calligraphy, sculpting, music, theater, and so much more.

It is a form of expression present throughout history that transcends the limitations of linguistic barriers — stirring emotion, regardless of differentiating perspectives, beliefs, language, and religion.

The Stroudsburg High School’s Senior Art Exhibition was on display May 1, and is a fairly new gallery showing for art students, having been in its third year.
