The borough of Stroudsburg has implemented a new Short-term Rental Ordinance and refined zoning regulations to prohibit short term rentals in residential districts (R-1, R-2 and R-3) and allow it in all other zoning districts. STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A State Treasurer, Stacy Garrity stopped by Monroe County Monday and announced that more than $28 million is owed to Monroe County residents.
It is part of the state's unclaimed property being held in a vault in the State Capitol. In total, Pennsylvania State Treasury is holding $4.5 billion in unclaimed property.
Garrity, along with State Senator Rosemary Brown are working together to encourage Pennsylvanians to begin the claim process.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating a shooting after an altercation between a group caused shots fired in Stroudsburg Thursday.
According to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department, around 1:00 a.m. officers were called to the 600 block of Main Street for shots fired.
An investigation showed the shots took place on North 6th Street after a physical altercation with a group of people. Officers said they located one bullet hole in a nearby business.

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — It’s not every day the Wilderz at Pocono Wildlife (formerly Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center) near Stroudsburg takes in a golden eagle, let alone one with a missing foot.
“When we first looked at the foot, I was almost in disbelief that something could have healed that well—no infection, no necrosis. It completely healed over,” said Janine Tancredi, the center’s executive director.

At a rally Thursday in Stroudsburg to support safe staffing, state Rep.
