The borough of Stroudsburg has implemented a new Short-term Rental Ordinance and refined zoning regulations to prohibit short term rentals in residential districts (R-1, R-2 and R-3) and allow it in all other zoning districts. On January 30, 2025, the Stroudsburg boys’ basketball team defeated Plesant Valley 64-54 on Senior Night. This was the first time Stroudsburg had defeated PV since 2021.
Stroudsburg came into this game with high hopes of taking down PV, especially against a home crowd and on Senior Night. Stroudsburg was celebrating this game for all of its senior cheerleaders and boys’ basketball players. A big congratulations to Marvin Dorvilus and Alex Pacitti.
Both teams were off to a slow start, exchanging baskets with the score of 16-11 at the end in favor of Stroudsburg.
Tonight, the red-hot girls’ basketball team takes on Pocono Mountain West to close out their 2024-25 regular season action.
The girls won 10 consecutive games, with their most recent win on Saturday against Bangor, 56-40.
A couple of weeks ago, the girls clinched a spot in the playoffs and currently sit in the sixth seed in the District XI 6A standings.
They have dominated the last couple of games, winning their games last week by an average score of 25.5 points. This includes their dominating win last Thursday against Pleasant Valley, winning by 49 points.
