Veteran’s Day was first called a federal holiday in 1938 and became known as “Veteran’s Day” in 1954. It is celebrated on November 11 which marks the day the armistice was signed for World War I.
“Something important like Veteran’s Day should be celebrated more within schools, regardless of grade and age, so I’m thankful for Community Connections for doing so.”
