EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating shots fired that occurred at a local university on Sunday. Early Sunday Morning, East Stroudsburg University students received an email notifying them of shots fired near the Zimbar Gym. University police have detained several persons of interest related to the shooting.

Will this be the last sunny fire drill of the year?

Students at Stroudsburg High School conducted a monthly fire drill on Monday afternoon, October 21, 2024.  The weather couldn’t have been better as the students guided themselves out of the building during the drill. The temperature was 21° above the average daily high for Stroudsburg. Registering at 77° with clear skies and radiating sun over the Stroudsburg campus. As November approaches, one can only wonder if Mother Nature will favor us with another sunny day for the monthly drill.

Two arrested, retail theft leads to police pursuit

TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two men have been arrested after they allegedly committed retail theft at the Pocono Premium Outlets and led multiple police agencies on a chase. On Thursday, October 17 around 2:40 p.m., officers were called to a retail theft at Tommy Hilfiger Outlet in the Pocono Premium Outlets. While searching the parking lot, a witness told officers a suspicious man was next to his car and a blue Mercedes.
