Happy Birthday to Ms. Krause, who devotes herself to the musical each year and the arrangement of the German exchange student program.  Ms. Krause is also an Toronto Maple Leaf hockey fanatic.

Three level one SHS students placed in the “Anything Goes” competition in the MCTI Cosmetology program hosted by Advisor Leatha Nonnemaker. First place was snagged by Zoey Balcik, ‘27, and third place winner was Jorai Hunter, ‘27. Isabella DeFalco,’27, won the Most Original category.  The competition gave students a chance to use their creativity while designing both everyday and original looks. DeFalco said, she adapted the style to her liking but was “using skills [she]  had recently just learned like Dutch braiding small sections and curling the hair with a Marcel iron.”  This competition allowed students to showcase their growing talents in the MCTI cosmetology program. Isabella states, “[She] was honored to win an award for it, the process was really fun and I look forward to next year’s ‘Anything Goes’ project.”

Where are you from? I live in Stroudsburg and have lived here my whole life. What activities do you enjoy outside of school? I love to play soccer, go shopping, hang out with friends, and bake/cook. What are your plans for after high school? I plan to attend a 4-year college to study chemical engineering. What place(s) would you like to visit? I really want to visit Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Singapore. Do you speak any other languages besides English? I speak Polish and I took Spanish for 4 years. What is your biggest accomplishment so far? Being where I am currently in life. Every accomplishment is as important as the previous one and I’m blessed to be where I’m at right now.

At which school in the district do you work? I work at Arlington, Hamilton, and Morey Elementary How long have you been working at SASD? I have been working here for 3 years. What is your favorite part of working at SASD? I enjoy working with children and families in the community where I live.  I get to be a part of the school district that my children attend and participate in activities that they are a part of. If you had gone into another profession, what would it be and why? I would love to be an author.  I love to read and have always thought I would like to try to write my own stories one day. If you could have one superpower what would it be and why? X-ray vision…as a nurse, it is sometimes hard to determine what is wrong with someone.  If I had X-Ray vision I could figure it out right away and help them.
