HB1018 passed the PA House 102-99 on May 22, 2023. It would allow the removal of a person's firearms with no due process, the subject of such orders is typically informed of the action through the execution of a no-knock warrant at their home. Please contact District 40 Senator, Rosemary Brown, at 570-620-4326 to tell her you strongly oppose HB1018. Don't be fooled by supporters of this bill who refer to it as "extreme risk protection orders" - this legislation would bring RED FLAG LAWS to Pennsylvania.
SCRANTON – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Walter Kenneth Parfaite, age 35, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 72 months’ imprisonment by U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion for possessing with intent to distribute 5 grams and more of methamphetamine.
Stroudsburg is the only town in Pennsylvania that is dissected by Interstate 80. The highway literally runs through the center of town, cutting Stroudsburg and South Stroudsburg in two.
