This win takes the team to a 6-3-1 record on the year heading into their final match of the season against the number 1 team in District 11, the 8-0, Pocono Mountain East, who previously beat Stroudsburg by a score of 7-0 back in December. Despite the loss, the team still feels confident in taking down the top dogs and proving themselves. This match-up will take place this Thursday at 3 pm.
Boys Wrestling Brings the Pocono Cup Home
On Saturday, January 18, the Mountaineers dualed the Delaware Valley Warriors at home and won 38-30. Every year, these two teams meet and it consistently results in a dogfight.
This is the first time the cup has been returned to Stroudsburg in years, as the Warriors have outlasted Stroudsburg the previous three duals.
The Mountaineers came out swinging, as Jack Jasionowicz, ’26, Albert Bialasiewicz, ’26, Hunter Brown, ’25, and Chase Fetherman, ’27, all came out victorious, giving Stroudsburg a 20-0 lead early.
After going back and forth with the Warriors in the next few matches, Ilya Ogden, ’25, and Leonard DiMaria, ’27, restored confidence with wins, extending the lead even more to a score of 34-12.

Girls Basketball prepares for Pocono Mountain East
Tonight, Stroudsburg prepares to take on Pocono Mountain East in a conference matchup.
Stroudsburg comes into tonight’s game victorious in their last four games and winning six out of the last seven games. In their current winning streak, the Lady Mounties have scored over 53 points in each contest, holding their opponents to less than 30 points in three out of the four games.
Last week, Stroudsburg clinched another playoff berth, their ninth in the last 11 years. Currently, they sit as the sixth seed in District XI 6A. Their record is 11-4 with 6 games remaining in the season.
All eyes are on McKayla Strunk, 12, tonight as she continues her pursuit of becoming a 1,000-point scorer during her high school career. There is a real possibility Strunk could get to 1,000 either Friday at East Stroudsburg South or next week at home vs East Stroudsburg North.

“Epic: The Musical” brings life to an old classic
Musicals inspired by Greek mythology aren’t new. Productions like “Hades Town” and “The Lightning Thief” have taken Broadway by storm over the past few years, and now a new production of “Hercules” is coming to London’s West End.
When Jorge Rivera-Herrans began writing “Epic: The Musical” (Epic), about “The Odyssey”, the reaction was unprecedented on TikTok.
By Christmas 2023 “he managed to push Taylor Swift off the top of the US iTunes album charts” according to The Guardian. Epic now has 1.6 million monthly listeners and 119 million monthly plays.
