SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say a Smithfield Township fire on Sunday has turned deadly and left two injured. On Sunday shortly after 5:00 p.m., the Marshalls Creek Fire Department and multiple other crews were called to the 200 block of Poco Lane in Smithfield Township for a fully involved fire. 28/22 News spoke with Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanic Jr. who says an individual died in the fire. New York man dead after Stroudsburg stabbing Pennsylvania State Police report a 68-year-old man was found dead on scene. Two others suffered burn injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The PSP Stroudsburg Criminal Investigation Unit along with the Troop N Fire Marshal Unit are investigating the incident.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — 28/22 News is following a developing story out of Monroe County. Authorities say a man is dead after a stabbing in Stroudsburg Sunday afternoon. Officials say crews were called to the 300 block of Main Street at around 4:15 p.m. for a reported stabbing. Man hospitalized after officer-involved shooting in Wilkes-Barre Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanic Jr. told 28/22 News a 41-year-old man from Staten Island, New York, was stabbed and taken to Lehigh Valley Pocono where he passed away. Yanic says an autopsy is planned but not scheduled at this time and that police are investigating the incident. Details are limited at this time and 28/22 News will give updates as new information is available.
