TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Florists are seeing price increases tied to tariffs, and with Mother's Day this weekend, shoppers may get sticker shock. 28/22 News stopped by one flower shop in Monroe County to find out how they are handling the higher price tag. With her newborn daughter strapped to her chest, Ally Gouny works around the clock to fulfill orders inside her shop, Imaginations, Florals & More by Ally. “Prom always tends to fall on Mother’s Day (Weekend), so it gets quite hectic in here,” said Gouny. The busy time of year sends customers to floral shops nationwide, but many like this one in Tannersville are also seeing an uptick in costs.

While research has proven coat color doesn’t actually affect the animals personality, according to Popular Mechanics a new cat color has defied all genetic expectations. The new cat color, salmiak  or salty liquorice, is a stunning black, white, and gray. It’s a black strand that grows whiter and whiter towards the tip. “At first glance it looks like a ghastly skeleton, but after further inspection it is a cute cat that has a unique fur pattern,” expressed English teacher, Ashley Krause. “I would definitely adopt a cat that looked like this.”

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say a 52-year-old man is dead after a crash in Monroe County on Monday. In a press release, Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac says they were called to a two-car crash on Monday on Route 715 in Jackson Township. Shortly after 4:15 p.m., the coroner pronounced a 52-year-old man from Chestnuthill Township dead on the scene. 1 sent to hospital, police searching for vehicle in Scranton incident The release says the name of the man who died will not be released at this time and that an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6. According to Yanac, the cause and manner of death are currently pending, and the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
