TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — From sleet to freezing rain and snow, our region has seen its fair share of weather this winter season. It's a wintry haze of snow at Camelback Resort in Tannersville on Tuesday morning. “We have been making snow the last week and we continue to make it until we see the temps start to rise, so it’s going to be a long stretch for us which we’re excited for.” Senior Events Manager Lauren Brands says they’ve been thankful for the bitter cold this winter season. But have also dealt with a mix of conditions like sleet and freezing rain on the slopes. “When you have those ice storms like there are tree limbs that come down, things like that, and those are things that need to be cleared out of the trails before we open for the day or for the groomers.” Strong winds can also cause a problem for operations.

One out of every three people will need donated blood in their lifetime. If the US stopped donating blood, the supply would run out in just two days. With a donation of blood, you can potentially save up to three lives.
