Tue, 18 Feb 2025 00:00:00 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Pocono Township Zoning Hearing Board will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, beginning at 5:00 P.M. at the Pocono Township Municipal Building, 112 Township Drive, Tannersville, PA 18372. At the hearing, the Board will consider Manuel A. Varela’s appeal from the Zoning Officer’s December 26, 2024 determination and denial of Mr. Varela’s application to construct a boulder wall within drainage and utility easements that are depicted on an approved subdivision plan. The Zoning Officer denied the application because construction with the easements would violate the subdivision plan. Under § 470-132 of the Pocono Township Zoning Ordinance, if a structure regulated under the Zoning Ordinance would also be regulated by the Township’s Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO), any zoning permit or approval must automatically be conditioned upon compliance with the SALDO. Manuel A.

Mother Nature vs. Ski slopes

TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — From sleet to freezing rain and snow, our region has seen its fair share of weather this winter season. It's a wintry haze of snow at Camelback Resort in Tannersville on Tuesday morning. “We have been making snow the last week and we continue to make it until we see the temps start to rise, so it’s going to be a long stretch for us which we’re excited for.” Senior Events Manager Lauren Brands says they’ve been thankful for the bitter cold this winter season. But have also dealt with a mix of conditions like sleet and freezing rain on the slopes. “When you have those ice storms like there are tree limbs that come down, things like that, and those are things that need to be cleared out of the trails before we open for the day or for the groomers.” Strong winds can also cause a problem for operations.
