Police: Biker fled police on sidewalks, pedestrian trail

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police in Monroe County are trying to identify a biker they say recklessly rode through the streets of Stroudsburg last week.

On May 9 around 7:30 p.m., a Stroud Area Regional Police officer said they saw an unregistered dirt bike illegally passing cars on Main Street. The officer said he tried to stop the dirt bike, but the rider immediately fled and drove off onto the sidewalk.

Bald eagle tests positive for bird flu in Monroe County

MONROE CO., Pa. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture says a wild bald eagle has tested positive for avian influenza (bird flu) in Monroe County.

According to the USDA, a bald eagle sample collected on April 13 was determined to have the virus on May 2. The test results were submitted by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

At least three injured after crash, I-80 W shut down

TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Interstate 80 West is shut down at the I-380 interchange following a crash that injured at least three people Tuesday morning.

 

Officials say first responders were called to a reported tractor-trailer crash at mile marker 289 around 6:20 a.m.

In March FOX56 highlighted the stories of two Penn Estates residents who feel the administration takes advantage of residents and believes community manager, Phyllis Haase, is to blame.

Two months later -- more residents are coming forward.

“I feel that unless it takes control, I am going to put my house up for sale,” says MaryAnn Rodriguez.
