Tobyhanna Township approved a short-term rental ordinance in 2022. A revision to the ordinance was adopted in February of 2024 that changed the occupancy limit to 2 per bedroom + 2 and reduced fines for violations to be within state guidelines. TOBYHANNA, Pa. - Police say a man and woman are facing charges after officers found a dead dog, as well as two emaciated dogs, at a home in Monroe County.
Diajanira Singh and Christopher Singh both face charges of aggravated cruelty to animal, cruelty to animal, and neglect of animal, according to a news release from the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department.

The suspect, identified as Colleen Hall, 56, of Tobyhanna, was combative when police attempted to arrest her, kicking an officer in the chest.
