Learn how to bake at Main St. Makery
STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — In downtown Stroudsburg, the sidewalks are bare with a chill in the air. Inside Main Street Makery, however, heat from owner Lisa Diemer's oven warms up the shop.
“It’s cold, it’s damp, and people just don’t want to stroll the streets of Stroudsburg. So we offer classes that are prescheduled, so they have a destination to come into a nice warm kitchen.”
Offering up all types of classes; such as how to decorate cakes, making spritz butter cookies or fresh bread Diemer keeps up with the times.
“Right now it’s very trendy to do sourdough starter, but it doesn’t fit into a lot of peoples lives because it literally is like taking care of a pet.”
“If you take a nice simple Italian bread or a white bread loaf you can put that from start to finish in an hour and half.”
