Stroudsburg TSA gears up to host Region 9 Conference

Stroudsburg Technology Student Association (TSA) is getting ready for the Region 9 conference on Jan. 25 at Stroudsburg Junior High. Schools from all over northeastern Pennsylvania will compete in more than 30 events.  Since Stroudsburg is hosting this event, TSA members are required to help set up the night before. During the conference, there will be special interest sessions planned by the Region 9 subcommittee of the student-run Regional Representative Committee. These sessions include topics like how to get more involved in TSA, ways to help your chapter, and how to set up game rooms for students when they are not doing an event.  This year, Stroudsburg TSA has more members than last year, and the officer team is working hard to make it a great season. Shooting leaves 2 injured, 1 dead in Long Pond

LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A triple shooting in the Poconos left one man dead and two others injured. Police were called around 4:30 p.m. to a home in Long Pond on the 1300 block of Clover Road. They found one man dead inside and two others injured elsewhere. Wilkes-Barre church holds final mass While investigating there, police were called to a burglary in progress not far from the scene on Mohegan Court. They entered that home and took two other men into custody. This is a developing story and 28/22 News will provide updates as new information is made available.

Father of suspected shooter allegedly aided son in fleeing scene

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Pike County father has been arrested in connection with a homicide after his son allegedly shot a teenager at a Wawa last year in Monroe County, according to District Attorney Mike Mancuso. Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso stated that 54-year-old Joseph Quattrochi was arrested a his home in Bushkill. He is charged with aiding his son, 25-year-old Andrew Quattrochi, get away from the crime scene with the firearm that he allegedly used to shoot and kill 17-year-old Garrett Gearheart on November 30. Andrew Quattrochi is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on January 13 for the homicide charges. Officials say the shooting occurred after Gearheart tried breaking up a fight between one of his friends, Andrew Quattrochi, and his 15-year-old brother.
