Attempt To Identify Retail Theft At LidsDetails Map On March 31st, 2025 at approximately 06:00 P.M., officers of the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to the Lids store in the Crossings Premium Outlets. Employees on scene reported two female suspects were observed taking the security tag off of an item leaving the store without paying for it.

Powersport Thefts As the weather starts to turn warmer, thieves are keeping an eye out for powersport vehicles -- like ATVs, motorcycles, motorized scooters, mini bikes and dirt bikes. Given that these vehicles can be lifted or ridden away quickly and more easily than a car or truck, they are hot items for thieves! These thefts also often bring other problems like driving on sidewalks, groups of riders doing wheelies on interstates, and attempts to elude police at the expense of community safety. And, they often also include title washing investigations, counterfeit titles, re-vinned stolen vehicles, and identity theft investigations.

East Stroudsburg University will be represented at the 2025 Allentown Film Festival with an animated short created by Art + Media + Design program students. “Figure Swizzles Stick” is scheduled to be shown at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at the Civic Theatre of Allentown. The executive director of the Monroe County Historical Association gave tours where guests could check out courtrooms and learn the history of the building. Tuesday's event marked Monroe County's Founders Day, established 189 years ago in 1836. Nonprofit spotlights Sexual Assault Awareness Month "A lot of people have been asking to see the new courthouse, and we thought this is a good opportunity to give people tours of the new courthouse so they can see the new courtrooms and the facilities that we have. It's a very nice building," said County Commissioner David Parker.

DELAWARE WATER GAP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — April is sexual assault awareness month and one non-profit in the Poconos is standing up for the voiceless. Signs that read ‘No is a complete sentence’ and ‘I march with survivors’ are scattered inside Safe Monroe Tuesday. The nonprofit in Delaware Water Gap serves as a safe haven for those affected by domestic and sexual abuse. They are making sure their voices are heard during the month of April for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. “We have served over 150 people just last year, adults and children for sexual violence, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse so it does happen regardless of where you are.” Executive director Lauren Peterson is getting ready for its ‘Take Back the Night’ event that kicks off at 5 pm Thursday at Courthouse Square, ending at East Stroudsburg University.
