On Wednesdays, we wear pink

Whether you’ve seen the 2004 version or the 2024 movie, “Mean Girls,” then you know “on Wednesdays we wear pink.” The English department adopted the trend initiated by colleague Danielle Ramstine. On Tuesday afternoons, as faculty members leave the building and wander to their cars, you can always hear a booming voice in the distance reminding others of the Wednesday dress code. Shari Griswold and Danielle Ramstine, English department members, gather outside for a fire drill showing their pink attire on Wednesday. Photo by J. Appolo As the year progressed, Ramstine slowly inspired (or coerced) others to join. What started as a few members of the second floor C-hallway has now progressed to what you see in the picture– faculty from other departments, other hallways, men, women, even students–Wednesdays, we wear pink!

NEWS POST: Powersport Thefts

powersport-thefts.jpeg Powersport Thefts As the weather starts to turn warmer, thieves are keeping an eye out for powersport vehicles -- like ATVs, motorcycles, motorized scooters, mini bikes and dirt bikes. Given that these vehicles can be lifted or ridden away quickly and more easily than a car or truck, they are hot items for thieves! These thefts also often bring other problems like driving on sidewalks, groups of riders doing wheelies on interstates, and attempts to elude police at the expense of community safety. And, they often also include title washing investigations, counterfeit titles, re-vinned stolen vehicles, and identity theft investigations.
