BRODHEADSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The ShopRite of Brodheadsville in the Poconos is being honored for raising thousands to fight hunger as part of the annual ShopRite partners in Caring Cheerios Contest. They raised over $48,000 and ranked among the top five fundraising stores. Pop-up shop returns to Monroe County "Throughout the whole 25 years of doing this, they've raised with all of the ShopRites over $65 million. So it's just really great to know that what we're doing is becoming a really big thing and that we're able to help different people all over," said Kayla Kinsley, Special Events Coordinator. Four associates are featured on a special edition cheerios box and a donation was made to local charities: The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network and West End Food Pantry.

It's a consignment shop with items for children of all ages that has grown in popularity due to its incredible low prices. More than 200 vendors with products including clothes, shoes, toys, and books. Even though this is for children of all ages, most of the customers are there for the youngest age group. "We do find that our biggest demographic is 0 to 5 because those are the most expensive items we tend to find, and we're also trying to stock, not only our own homes, but also those grandparents or babysitters and things like that, so being able to buy those at secondhand or consignment shops help out our own personal budgets," explained Ashley Elmer,Co-owner, Just Between Friends Consignment Shop.

How long have you been with SHS? Since October of 2022  What made you want to become a teacher? I fell in love with teaching when I taught ESL in Japan. Education then became a passion of mine and something I wanted to continue to do in America too.  What subject or subjects do you teach? English Literature all day.  What grades do you teach?
